Chat Phillips has worked in economic development and site selection for the past five years. He began his career at the community level with the Community Development Foundation in Tupelo (Mississippi). He then served at the Mississippi Development Authority, the state economic development agency, managing all transportation equipment manufacturing site selection projects, with a particular focus on East Asian investments.
Chat served as the liaison to the automotive business community for the State of Mississippi, assisting a number of existing industries with workforce, financial and expansion needs. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma (Washington) in Politics and Government and Economics with a minor in Japanese Language. He spent a semester abroad at Kanda University of International Studies.
Chat is based in Jackson, Mississippi and is proficient in Japanese.
