Sentury Tire Preparing to Break Ground

In 2016, we had the privilege of assisting Sentury Tire, a Chinese manufacturer of automotive and aircraft tires, in identifying an ideal location for its North American headquarters. See our case study for a detailed look at the project.

Since the announcement of the $530m investment and planned creation of 1,000 new jobs in September 2016, the project received a lot of media attention and praise across the economic development community. Earlier this year for example, the expansion was among the Honorable Mentions of Business Facilities’ “Economic Development Deal of the Year 2016”.

The highly automated and connected 1.4 million square foot facility on 400 acres in LaGrange, GA will adopt Industry 4.0 principles. It will be equipped with smart technology and feature new-generation research and development facilities, a proving ground and test track. Sentury Tire is currently preparing to break ground and the plant will be fully operational in 2019. For now, the Sentury team is located in a temporary office space at the city of LaGrange’s technology center.
